Demand Supports Food Peas
VANCOUVER - Sep 29/06 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets finished weekly trading on a firm note against ongoing demand for food grade peas from the Indian subcontinent.
Interest in buying Canadian product is fueled by doubts about the Australian harvest and uneven summer or kharif season crop results in India.
Parts of the country are reporting significant yield losses from flooding later in the monsoon season, while others complain of insufficient rain early in the season.
