Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Sep 16/02 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A final land wind warning has been issued for the Alpine district. Strong wind warnings are current for all Victorian coastal waters. Weather Pattern A cold front over eastern Victoria will move over the Tasman Sea tonight. Another rapidly moving cold front will cross Bight waters on Tuesday to affect southern Victoria on Wednesday. The next high pressure system will approach Adelaide on Thursday with a cold front to approach the state on Friday. Victoria Tonight and Tuesday: Rain in the east, contracting eastwards overnight and clearing during the morning. Scattered showers and local hail to follow, mainly in southern and mountain areas. A cool to cold and generally cloudy day with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds. UV Index: 5 [High] reduced to 2 [moderate] under cloud. Wednesday: Showers in the south increasing. Isolated shower developing in the north. Cool to mild and windy. Thursday: Showers in the south becoming isolated and tending to clear from the west. Cool.
