USDA Buys 13,010 MT Pinto Beans
KANSAS CITY - Sep 14/02 - STAT -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 14,450 metric tons (MT) of pinto beans, dark red kidney beans and lentils on the latest food aid tender.
The only surprise of the tender was that pinto beans did not capture the full portion of the optional request for pinto and/or dark red kidney beans. Instead, pinto beans captured 13,010 MT of the total and dark red kidney beans 490 MT.
