MELBOURNE - Sep 13/02 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

WARNINGS:
Severe Wind Warning for land areas between Perth and Albany. 
Storm Warning for coastal waters between Mandurah and Albany.
Gale Warnings for coastal waters between Geraldton and Mandurah, and between
Albany and Israelite Bay.
Strong Wind Warnings for coastal waters from Carnarvon to Geraldton and from
Israelite Bay to Eucla. 

STATE FORECAST
East Kimberley and far NE Interior: Isolated afternoon showers. 
Lower Southwest: Showers increasing during the morning with strengthening NW
winds.
Showers becoming widespread in the afternoon with local heavy falls and
thunderstorms. Gale force squally NW winds shifting W/SW later in the day. 
Remaining SW Land Division: Isolated showers in western parts increasing and
extending throughout during the afternoon. 
Scattered showers extending to southern and western parts of the Gascoyne, and
western parts of the Goldfields, late in the day.
PERTH AND METROPOLITAN:
Severe wind warning current.
Showers, heavy at times with the risk of a thunderstorm. Strong squally NW winds
shifting colder W/SW this afternoon.
