Frozen Poultry Stocks Slip 2%
WASHINGTON - Sep 21/06 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of August were down 2% from the previous month, and 1% below last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 715 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were down 13.3 million pounds from the previous month, and up 1% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were down 10% on the month at 21.2 million pounds.
At 501 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were down 11.7 million pounds from last month and down 22.6 million pounds from last year.
