U.S. Frozen Meat Inventory SlipsWASHINGTON - Sep 21/06 - SNS -- Total red meat supplies in freezers fell 12 million pounds in August to 887 million pounds, up 4% from the previous year, notes the USDA in its latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Frozen pork supplies fell 2% during the month to 405 million pounds, down 2% from the previous year. Stocks of pork bellies were down 63% from last month at 13.9 million pounds and down 37% from last year. Supplies of beef rose from year earlier levels, rising 13% to 464.5 million pounds, down around 2 million pounds from the previous month.
