Lentils Values Holding SteadyVANCOUVER - Sep 15/06 - SNS -- North American lentils were little changed in light trade during the past week. The revelation Canada ended the 2005-06 marketing year with fewer stocks on hand than anticipated had no impact on markets. Statistics Canada reported there were 475,000 metric tons (MT) on hand to end the marketing year, down from the 580,000 MT expected prior to the report. Ending stocks include 30,000 MT of lentils in commercial hands and 445,000 MT on farms. The smaller number points to tighter than expected green lentil supplies when combined a short harvest.
