Australian Pulse Output Expected to PlungeVANCOUVER - Sep 15/06 - SNS -- Total pulse production in Australia is expected to plunge almost one million tons to a forecast 1.372 million metric tons (MT), according to an industry survey by the association, Pulse Australia. The industry group is looking for production of lupins, field peas, fababeans, broadbeans, and lentils to decline from last year; while desi and kabuli chickpea output increases. Most of the decline is in pulses grown in the state of Western Australia, with lupin output forecast to plunge from 1.0769 million MT to just 339,870 on account of a precipitous decline in seeded area.
