Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - Sep 15/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on strong gains in sheep and lamb offerings offset a modest decline in cattle. Throughput for the week totalled 30,648 sheep and lambs, up from 17,180 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,480, compared to 3,591 last week. "No rain, but plenty of confidence punctuates the cattle market at present. Several people commented this morning that little cattle should drop considerably in price over the next couple of weeks if it stays dry," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "It's a reasonable enough assumption, but when you look at some of the results achieved today it seems a world away." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
