U.S. Nigerseed Imports Fade
VANCOUVER - Sep 14/06 - SNS -- Nigerseed imports by the United States are down from last year, according to data available from the U.S. Bureau of Census.
In the January to July period of 2006, imports totalled 30,663 metric tons (MT) from six suppliers, down from 37,748 MT from five suppliers during the same seven-month period last year.
If import activity during the remainder of the calendar year were to match last year, imports will end up closer to 50,000 MT than the over 60,000 MT imported in both 2004 and 2005.
