Improved U.S. Sugar SuppliesWASHINGTON - Sep 12/06 - SNS -- Sugar supplies on U.S. domestic markets will be more ample in 2006-07 than initially expected, according to the latest report from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board. Projected 2006-07 U.S. sugar supply is increased 147,000 tons, raw value, from last month, due to higher beginning stocks and production. Production is increased 100,000 tons based on processor estimates compiled by the Farm Service Agency (FSA). Sugar use is unchanged. For 2005-06, total supply is increased 47,000 tons. Production is increased 72,000 tons based on processor estimates compiled by FSA. Imports of high-tier sugar are reduced 25,000 tons based on U.S. Customs reporting.
