USDA National Grain ReviewST. JOSEPH - Sep 8/06 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 8.
WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW
Wheat was uneven after last week’s solid gains. The weather in the southern
plains has improved for the winter crop planting season. Late support in the
week was in reaction to the higher corn and soybeans. Corn bids declined after
the holiday but recovered some of its losses on Thursday. The corn harvest is
expected to be at full swing in a few weeks pressuring bids, along with talk of
increasing production numbers for next weeks USDA report. This year’s crop is
looking good as most of the Midwest received timely rain. Soybeans continue
their down trend due to spillover pressure from neighboring pits and talk of
increasing production estimates in the USDA report. Wheat was 8 cents lower to
8 cents higher. Corn was 2 cents lower to 14 cents higher. Sorghum was 3 cents
lower to 20 cents higher. Soybeans were mostly 2-6 cents lower.
