Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Sep 10/02 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A strong wind warning is current for Victorian coastal waters east of Wilsons Promontory. Weather Pattern A large high pressure system near Adelaide will move slowly eastwards across Victoria later Wednesday and during Thursday to lie just east of Victoria on Friday. On Saturday a warm northerly airflow will strengthen over Victoria as a cold front crosses the Bight. Victoria Wednesday: Isolated showers in south contracting eastwards during the day. Widespread morning frosts. A mostly sunny day although some cloud persisting in the southeast. Cool with moderating west to southwest winds. UV Index: 4 [High] reduced to 2 [moderate] under cloud. Thursday: Fine. Early frosts, severe inland, then cool to mild and generally sunny with light winds. Friday: Fine. Early frosts in the east, then mild. Light wind tending moderate northerly. Saturday: Fine, although cloud increasing later. Northerly wind strengthening. Generally warm. Forecast for Melbourne Wednesday A shower or two clearing during the early afternoon.
