Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 1/06 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Nil.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high is over the Tasman Sea with a ridge into New South Wales. A front through
the Bight is moving slowly east, and is expected to enter southwestern New South
Wales late Saturday, and cross much of New South Wales on Sunday. On Monday  a
weak trough is expected to remain over the northeast of the state, with the main
front in the Tasman Sea. On Tuesday another front will move through the
southwestern half of the state.
Forecast for Saturday
Early fog patches, chiefly in the northeast. Isolated afternoon showers
developing over the southeastern inland. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm north to
northwest winds, becoming fresh and gusty in the south,  ahead of a westerly
change in the evening in the southwest.  Strong gales likely over the higher
Alps Saturday night.
Forecast for Sunday
Showers clearing from the southwest and contracting to the northeast of the
state. Showers expected to be more widespread about the southeastern inland, and
rather sporadic in northern parts. Warm fresh to strong north to northwest
winds, ahead of  milder west to southwest winds, fresh to strong and gusty in
the southeast.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers  along the northeastern border districts. Fine elsewhere. Mild
to warm southwest to southeast winds, turning east to northeast later.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers along the northeastern border districts. Isolated showers
developing in the southwest near a colder gusty west to southwest change. MIld
to warm north to northwest winds ahead of the change.
