Canadian Pea Exports Down in JulyWINNIPEG - Aug 29/06 - SNS -- Canadian field pea exports through terminals totalled 101,400 metric tons (MT) in July, according to the Canadian Grain Commission, including 72,700 MT through Vancouver and 28,700 MT via Thunder Bay. This lifted total exports for the 2005-06 marketing year to 1,998,500 MT, including: 1,492,600 MT via Vancouver; 88,300 MT through Churchill; 206,600 MT via Thunder Bay; 155,500 MT via Port Cartier; 37,100 MT through Sorel and 14,700 MT directly from primary elevators in western Canada. Field pea exports were down in July. Exports through facilities reporting to the CGC totalled 146,900 MT in June and 256,600 MT in May. Breaking out exports for July by destination, the CGC said 3,400 MT were shipped to Belgium; 25,300 MT to Spain; 62,300 MT to India; and 10,500 MT to Pakistan, Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
