Syrian Wheat Output Exceeds Expectations
CAIRO - Sep 9/02 - STAT -- Syrian wheat production is coming is much larger than initially expected, with a projected harvest of over 4.5 million metric tons (MT) opening the door to a solid export program.
At this level, production is similar to the 2001 harvest, but remains well above the 2.7 million MT produced in the year 2000.
