Pea and Lentil Tenders Reach 15,110 MT
KANSAS CITY - Aug 22/06 - STAT -- The quantity of peas and lentils covered by USDA PL-480 food aid tenders this season now totals 23,280 MT, compared to 49,890 MT last year.
Purchases of green peas are up 640 MT at 2,440 MT versus 1,800 MT last season. Yellow pea purchases are up 1,450 MT at 14,860 MT the first two months of the current marketing year. Food aid demand for U.S. regular lentils is down 28,700 MT from last year's 34,680 MT.
