Frozen Poultry Stocks Slip
WASHINGTON - Aug 22/06 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of July were down 2% from the previous month, and 2% above last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 753 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were down 28 million pounds from the previous month, and up 4% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were up 7% on the month at 23.6 million pounds.
At 511 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 3.6 million pounds from last month and down 7.8 million pounds from last year.
