Australian Livestock Auction Action SlowsSYDNEY - Aug 18/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week against lower offerings of cattle, sheep and lambs. Throughput for the week totalled 24,536 sheep and lambs, down from 31,272 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,844, compared to 4,004 last week. "The closure of three domestic mutton boning rooms and one domestic abattoir dealt a serious blow to the sheep and lamb markets this week," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
