USDA Buys for 1,330 MT LentilsKANSAS CITY - Aug 16/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 1,330 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment to Sri Lanka. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 086A, the USDA paid an average U.S. $19.14 per 100 pounds (cwt) on a delivered Gulf ports basis for the whole red lentils packed in 50 kg bags for shipment between August 13 and August 26 from inland plants and between August 27 and September 9 from plants located at the port.
