International Beans Mixed to FirmerVANCOUVER - Aug 11/06 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week mixed against relatively light trading demand. North American ended with a firmer undertone, with the spot market index gaining six points on the week to finish at 787. Markets were helped by the USDA crop production estimates, which confirmed yields are under significant pressure in North Dakota. It is the most important pulse producing region in the United States. Average beans yields in the state are expected to be down 31% at 1,050 pounds per acre, lowering production potential for pinto and navy beans.
