Australian Livestock Auction Action ImprovesSYDNEY - Aug 11/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd increased during the past week as solid gains in cattle, sheep and lamb sales. Throughput for the week totalled 31,272 sheep and lambs, up from 20,341 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 4,004, compared to 3,219 last week. "Last weeks excellent results and a drier outlook brought numbers out of the woodwork this week," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "A large correction was applied to the sheep and particularly lamb markets early this week, but by Thursday some ground was regained."
