Murrell Elected CSTA PresidentOTTAWA - Aug 7/06 - SNS -- The Canadian Seed Trade Association (CSTA) elected Dorothy Murrell of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, as its president for 2006-2007. Her election occurred at the CSTA’s 83rd annual meeting, held recently in Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy is the Business Manager of SW Seed Ltd, the North American subsidiary of Svalöf Weibull AB (SW) of Sweden. SW has been in the plant breeding business 125 years, with core competences in winter oilseed rape, spring canola, winter and spring cereals, and forages, and is well known in North America for its canola, pea, oat and forage varieties. Murrell joined SW Seed in 1997 and has been active in CSTA since that time, serving on the Intellectual Property, Oilseeds, Pulses and Western Cereals, and Biotech Committees. She joined the Board of Directors in 1999.
