Slow Market Condition For Feed PeasVANCOUVER - Aug 4/06 - SNS -- International feed pea markets were little changed on the week, reflecting the ready availability of new crop in Europe and rapidly approaching harvests in western Canada. Canadian feed pea shipments have slowed considerably this summer in response to improved harvest conditions in Spain, relative to last year. Even so, exporters are accumulating stocks in preparation for shipment later in the season, with 22,500 metric tons (MT) of feed peas already accumulated at the Port of Churchill. This is a traditionally slow time of year for new sales because many European traders take holidays in August. At the same time, local compound feed manufacturers and livestock operators have fresh supplies of locally harvested feed ingredients to work their way through, helping limit buying interest.
