USDA Buys 7,260 MT PulsesKANSAS CITY - Sep 5/02 - STAT -- Dry edible bean processors in the United States were pleased to see the USDA announce it had bought 7,260 metric tons (MT) of pulses under terms of PL-480 food aid tender 092 for delivery during October. This meant the USDA could not make further cuts to the quantity of pinto beans bought under terms of the tender. Of the 4,480 metric tons (MT) sought on the original tender, program changes since August 20 left just 1,280 MT of beans in the invitation.
