Canola Lifts 2005-06 CrushWINNIPEG - Aug 2/06 -- STAT -- The Canadian Oilseed Processors Association (COPA) reports the country processed more canola in 2005-06 than the previous marketing year, while handling less soybeans. The 2005-06 marketing year finished with canola crush totalling 3,390,898 metric tons (MT), up around 386,000 MT from the 3,004,983 MT crushed during the same period last season. Soybean crush totalled 1,508,489 MT, down around 72,500 MT from the 1,580,030 MT processed last season. Crush capacity utilization during the 2005,06 marketing year averaged 88.7% for canola and 69.3% for soybeans.
