Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Aug 1/06 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary: Minor flood warning for the Paroo River. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A high over central New South Wales is moving east. A cold front will reach the far southwest of the state later this evening and then move through the state on Thursday. Another high wIll move towards Bass Strait on Friday extending a ridge across the southern Tasman Sea. A trough will form over the Tasman Sea with a deepening southeasterly airstream extending across New South Wales on the weekend and early next week. Forecast for Wednesday Patchy rain or isolated showers developing in the southwest later in the day.. Early frost on the slopes and ranges. Fine elsewhere although cloudy. Cool to mild day. Light northwest to northeast winds ahead of an overnight southwest change in the southwest. Forecast for Thursday Patchy rain or isolated showers mostly on and west of the ranges. Mild in the far northeast with northeast to northwest winds. Cool to mild in the remainder with winds tending south to southeast.
