IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY No warnings. STATE FORECAST for Tuesday night and Wednesday Fine almost throughout at first. Just some isolated showers along the Tropical Coast north of Cairns. A cloud band is expected to move into SW Queensland during Wednesday with little or no rain. Early frost about SE parts this morning. Light to moderate SW to SE winds. EXTENDED OUTLOOK The weakening high will move over southeast Queensland maintaining fine weather conditions through most of the state. The next upper trough will begin to amplify over central Australia during Wednesday. High cloud will increase with little or no rain over the Channel Country. On Thursday this cloud band will clear SW Queensland and move quickly eastwards into the Maranoa, Warrego, Darling Downs, Granite Belt and the SE coast districts. Expect little or no rain with this system and some possible thunderstorms near the New South Wales border. The possible thunderstorms are owing to very cold pool of air in the middle levels of the atmosphere. This cold pool drifts over the Darling Downs and Granite Belt on Friday and may cause some afternoon thundery showers. Following the cloud band a surface trough will develop offshore. At the same time a strong high pressure system will move over southern NSW. The combination of the two systems will bring drier SW to SE winds across the state on Friday. Winds becoming fresh to strong S'lies over southern coastal waters in the --- STAT News Service
