Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Aug 1/06 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary A strong wind warning has been issued for coastal waters west of Cape Otway. A frost warning has been issued for the Northeast district. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A high pressure system will pass just to the north of Victoria later today before moving to the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A cold front will move from the Bight to cross Victoria Wednesday night. The next high will move into the Bight later Thursday and will move over southwestern Victoria later Friday and just east of Bass Strait later Saturday. Victoria Tonight and Wednesday: Overnight and morning fog and frost patches in central and eastern districts, locally severe in the northeast. Cloud increasing from the west with showers extending eastwards to reach eastern parts late in the day. A cool day with moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting west to southwesterly in the west at night and easing. UV Index: 1-2 [low] Thursday: Showers becoming isolated. Local morning fogs in the north. Generally cool. Friday: Isolated showers in the south contracting to the east. Morning fog patches. Early inland frost then cool. Saturday: Morning fog patches.
