Edible Beans FirmVANCOUVER- Jul 28/06 - SNS -- Dry edible beans finished the week's trading on a slightly firmer note in North America as processors worry more about the potential impact hot and dry weather will have on yields. Concerns helped lift the spot market index for U.S. beans three points on the week, while new crops values showed more strength, especially in California. Processors there believe there will only be 80,795 bags or 3,665 metric tons (MT) of all classes on beans remaining by the August 31 close of the current marketing year. They expect production to total 1.45 million bags or 65,753 MT, compared to 62,823 MT last year, with garbanzo bean increases more than compensating for declines in other classes of beans.
