The upper trough system moving west across the Coral Sea is expected to bring some showers to the tropical east coast and Cape York Peninsula on Friday and Saturday. The trough moving across central Australia will increase cloud over southwest Queensland tonight, producing patchy light rain or showers and isolated thunderstorms. The trough will then contract the cloud and weather into the southeast of the state by Saturday before clearing seawards overnight. However rainfall is likely to be light and patchy. On Sunday nearly all of Queensland can expect dry weather in the wake of the southern trough.
