CWB Raises Durum, Barley PaymentWINNIPEG - Jul 26/06 - SNS -- The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) is raising initial payments for 2005-06 deliveries of durum and designated barley effective July 31, 2006. The increase in initial payments for durum will be CDN $15 per metric tons (MT), except for No. 5 Canada Western Amber Durum, which will not increase. For designated barley, the increase will be $11 MT on two-row and $13 on six-row. The adjustment payments, in dollars per tonne, for representative grades in each pool account are listed below. The total initial payment to date is based on the value of grain in store at Vancouver or St. Lawrence. The initial payment for 1CWAD 12.5% protein durum was set at $130 on August 1 of 2005. Adjustments were made on November 28 of $12 MT, on April 6 of $19 MT and on July 31 of $15 MT, bringing the total advance so far to $176 MT. The initial payment for SS CW Two-Row Barley was set at $119 on August 1 of 2005. Adjustments were made on November 28 of $22 MT, on April 6 of $10 MT and on July 31 of $11 MT, bringing the total advance so far to $162 MT. The initial payment for SS CW Six-Row Barley was set at $107 on August 1 of 2005. Adjustments were made on November 28 of $24 MT, on April 6 of $10 MT and on July 31 of $13 MT, bringing the total advance so far to $154 MT.
