New Zealand Livestock and Wool Market SummaryWASHINGTON - Sep 4/02 - STAT -- The latest weekly summary of New Zealand's beef, lamb and wool markets was released by the USDA today. Discussing beef markets, the USDA reports Beef: Prices for manufacturing beef eased in the U.S. last week by 1-2 cents per pound. U.S. domestic beef is still selling at a discount to imported by about 4 cents per pound. With Asian markets still quiet, and a weaker U.S.$, the Agri-Fax market indicators down 3-7c/kg. Demand from the New Zealand market pushed farmgate prices up 5-10c/kg, with under 300kg heifers and steers nearly at the 400c/kg mark again.
