Field Peas WeakenVANCOUVER - Jul 21/06 - SNS -- Canadian field pea markets dropped in value during the past week, even as complaints over the current heat wave grew louder. Early harvested pea fields in North Dakota are yielding between 2,100 and 2,400 pounds per acre with good quality. Even so, some market participants have flicked out the notion of 1,200 pound yields in the United States. Similar notions have been expressed about Canada, but some traders argue markets hold a different view, partly because peas are more advanced than other pulses in most areas.
