Further Cuts in Bean Purchase AgendaKANSAS CITY - Sep 3/02 - STAT -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here announced further cuts in the quantity of pinto beans it will purchase under terms of the PL-480 food aid tender invitation 092. The total quantity of pinto beans covered by the tender now stands at 280 metric tons (MT), down from the original tender quantity of 4,480 MT. Earlier reductions had lowered that number to 2,290 MT, but today saw the USDA eliminate the request for 2,010 MT for Angola. This leaves just 280 MT of beans for shipment to Rwanda.
