SWP Clarifies Pea Sales StatementsVANCOUVER - Sep 3/02 - STAT -- The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool's (SWP) field peas trader clarified statements published at the company's website. The comment created the impression in the minds of some readers that the SWP believed 50,000 metric tons (MT) of Canadian origin yellow peas had been sold to India for shipment during the opening weeks of the 2002-03 marketing campaign. At a minimum, the accumulated comments made about France, India and peas at the SWP website left STAT with the impression the company was trying to say only 50,000 MT of yellow peas had been sold (see "Lockout Has Little Impact on Canadian Peas" published August 30, 2002).
