Record Pace for Canadian Canola Crush
OTTAWA - Jul 20/06 - SNS -- Canadian oilseed processors crushed 300,701 metric tons (MT) of canola in June, according to the latest monthly update from Statistics Canada.
This lifted the cumulative volume of canola crushed during the first 11 months of the current crop year to 3,106,846 MT, slightly ahead of the pace in 2003-04 when a record 3,389,554 MT were crushed.
Oil production in June totalled 129,730 MT in June while meal production amounted to 174,857 MT.
