India's Domestic Pulse Market CoolingNEW DELHI - Jul 18/06 - SNS -- Spot markets for pulses and wheat in India have cooled considerably since the government took steps to encourage imports of the both commodities. In the case of pulses, import duties were reduced to zero and exports banned until March 31, 2007; while government-controlled entities are importing 221,500 metric tons (MT) of pulses, including 13,500 MT of chickpeas, 25,000 MT of whole yellow peas, and various classes of edible beans.
