Mixed Week for BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Jul 14/06 - SNS -- Markets for birdseed ingredients managed a mixed performance during the past week as overall demand remained behind quantities of merchandise available from growers and processors. Some Canadian growers continue to sell canaryseed even though plantings were reduced in that country and there is a general expectation of higher average prices across the 2006-07 marketing campaign. This saw spot markets in Latin American trade down from U.S. $390 to $380 per metric ton on a C+F basis during the week. White proso millet and sunflower markets were mainly unchanged on the week.
