Canadians Fret Over Chickpea CropVANCOUVER - Jul 14/06 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were mostly unchanged during the past week, with markets closely watching the progress of crops in western Canada. While seeded area ended up greater than initially expected, weather conditions are less than ideal for this crop, resulting a wide range of worries about developing crops. In some areas it is too dry, while others have had numerous small rains, which has promoted disease even though accumulated precipitation is not excessive.
