Ukraine Rapeseed Area Rising
KIEV - Jul 13/06 - APK -- Rapeseed area in the Ukraine could reach one million hectares in 2007, believes Alexander Baranovskiy of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
According to him, from the previous year sowing areas increased from 190,000 hectares to 430,000 hectares. According to the final data of State Statistics Committee, area under rape (winter and spring) totaled 415,330 hectares in 2006.
As informed APK-Inform agency, according to the estimations of Ministry of Agrarian Policy, rape harvest will approach 750,000 metric tons (MT) in the current year due to growth of sowing areas.
