Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Sep 1/02 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. For Monday WARNINGS: Gale/Strong Wind Warning for all NSW Coastal Waters current Sunday evening. Fire Weather Warning of Extreme fire danger for the Lower and Upper Western districts. Total Fire Ban has been declared for the Lower and Upper Western districts. Very high fire danger in Riverina and Central West Plains districts. STATE FORECAST A few showers in coastal areas north from Sydney, contracting north and mostly clearing by the afternoon. Cloud increasing in the west with some patchy rain developing there later. Fresh southerly winds along the northern coast tending southeast and easing later in the morning. Strengthening very warm to hot northerly winds in western and southern districts, ahead of a late west to southwest change in the far west. HEADLINE: Showers along the central and northern coast clearing. Patchy rain developing later in the far west.
