U.S. Onion Area Rises 3%WASHINGTON - Jul 10/06 - SNS -- Onion growers expect to harvest 166,550 acres of onions in 2006, up 3% from comparable States last year, according to the USDA. Spring onion growers harvested 34,900 acres, down 1% from last season. Summer, non-storage onion growers expect to harvest 21,000 acres, up 6% from last year.
