USDA Buys 12,500 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Jul 7/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 12,500 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment in August.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 066, the pulses were bought for shipment from inland plants between August 6 and August 27 or from plants located at port between August 27 and September 20.
Average prices paid for peas and lentils on the tender were significantly higher than those paid last month.
