Thai Rice Prices FirmBANGKOK - Jul 7/06 - SNS -- Exporters in Thailand boosted export prices moderately during the previous week in response to strength in the country's national currency, notes the U.S. agricultural attache in a report on the country's rice sector. "The Thai baht strengthened to around 37.9 baht/US$, compared to around 38.5 baht/US$ over the past three weeks," the agricultural attache said. "The current fluctuations will likely put upward pressure on prices, as domestic prices of white rice and fragrant rice remained unchanged at high levels due to limited exportable supplies."
