Malaysian CPO Output Rises in MayKUALA LUMPUR - Jul 6/06 - SNS -- Crude palm oil (CPO) production rose 5.7% in May to reach 1.4 million metric tons (MT), according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). While output in the Peninsula Malaysia increased by 6.5%, East Malaysia's production rose 5.7%. Compared to May 2005, output during May 2006 was 7% higher. CPO output is experiencing a seasonal uptrend and the palms are also recovering strongly from the biological stress experienced during the October 2005 through February 2006 period, noted the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.
