Canadian Port Clearances Down TrendVANCOUVER - Jul 4/06 - SNS -- Canadian specialty crop port clearances maintained their recent downward trend in June, with field pea clearances down almost 22,000 metric tons (MT) from June and no other special crops shipped through terminals and Thunder or Vancouver which report to the Canadian Ports Clearance Association. Field pea clearances totalled 122,090 MT in June, with only 15,806 MT moving through Thunder Bay while 106,284 MT through licensed terminals in Vancouver. This lifted port clearances in the August through June period to 1.604 million MT, nearly double the 876,424 MT shipped during the same 11-month period of the 2004-05 marketing year.
