Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 2/06 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Nil.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A trough of low pressure is moving across central and eastern New
South Wales, and will move over the Tasman Sea tonight and into
Monday, bringing southeast winds onto the coast. A high over the
Bight extends a ridge behind the front. The high will move to near
Tasmania on Tuesday maintaining the ridge across most of the state.
Another cold front will approach the state from the west later on
Wednesday and cross southern NSW on Thursday.
Forecast for Sunday evening
Fine in the northeast and southwest. Isolated showers and patchy rain
elsewhere , with snowfalls on the Alps. West to northwest winds
turning southerly in the south behind the trough.
Forecast for Monday
Scattered showers along the coast. Isolated showers over the eastern
ranges and over the northeastern inland. Snow showers over the Alps.
Fine elsewhere. Cool day. Southwest to southeast winds, freshening
near the coast.
Forecast for Tuesday
Scattered coastal showers becoming more isolated in the south and
over the eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere. Early frosts on the slopes
and ranges. Cool day. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers on the northern half of the coast. Fine elsewhere.
Early frosts on the slopes and ranges. Cool to mild day. Light winds
in the east tending westerly in the west.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers or patchy light rain over the south of the state.
Cool in the south, cool to mild in the north. Winds tending
southwesterly
