Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jul 1/06 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

IDQ1070001
WARNING SUMMARY
No warnings.
STATE FORECAST
for Sunday
Fine over most of the state. Only isolated showers along the northeast tropical
coast. A cold morning in the south with some early frost inland. Moderate SE
winds in the northern tropics. Light to moderate variable winds elsewhere.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
The next surface and upper trough system is expected to move across southeast
Australia today before reaching southeast Queensland early Monday.
The trough will destabilise the southeast corner of the state, but should
produce only isolated showers inland due to limited moisture. There is the
chance of isolated thunderstorms nearer the New South Wales border under cold
air aloft. Moister S to SE winds will develop along the south coast directed by
a new large high moving east from the Bight, and these are likely to bring
scattered showers near the coast south of about Bundaberg aided by the passage
of the upper trough. Isolated showers will linger about the northeast tropical
coast.
In the wake of the upper trough, most of Queensland can expect fine weather from
Tuesday until the end of the week. The high will move over the southern Tasman
Sea by Tuesday, and should bring only isolated showers to the exposed east coast
in a moderate to fresh S to SE airstream. Another surface and upper trough
system is expected to pass across southern Queensland on Thursday. This may
temporarily increase shower activity along the exposed southern coast ahead of
the next large high moving east over the Bight.
Temperatures will be close to average over most of Queensland during the next
few days, though milder at night in the southeast on Monday and Tuesday due to
