Quiet Finish For Food Pea Markets
VANCOUVER - Jun 30/06 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively quiet note, with supplies available from North American growers meeting the needs of the industry.
With stocks tightening, some market participants thought growers might try to force values higher. But with a new record area sown in both Canada and the United States, growers appear to trying to clear their bins in front of the harvest.
Recent bullish news from India has left some traders confounded by the lack of follow through demand.
